You don't need a medical degree to understand that cocaine doesn't put the same strain on your heart as cardio exercise. True, in both cases, doing a line and running will both make your heart beat faster, but what is going on in your body in either situation is not at all equivalent. The electrical signals sent to your heart after doing cocaine are disrupted and have completely different patterns, your valves misfire and the complicated contractions of this most important muscle in your body would show a different pattern on an electrocardiogram display even at the same beats per minute than they would if instead you were sober and exercised.
