Wicca is an ancient religion that has some rituals that date back as far as 6 months ago.
Wicca is the invention of a relgion by a British civil servant named Gerald Gardner. He was an occult hobbyist and a pen pal of Aleister Crowley. He took a bit of ceremonial magic, threw in some nature worship, and talked a bunch of people into dancing around naked for him. It's pretty much a given that most of the original Wiccan Book of Shadows was written for Gardner by Crowley.
After Crowley died, one of Gardner's high priestesses went back and rewrote giant chunks of it to make it more female oriented, mostly because she didn't like Crowley very much.
It's some funny shit.
