We have the WORSE tax assessors here - which is great
My house is assessed at 1/3 of the appraisal value.
One friend built a million dollar house, got all the right permits so they KNEW he was building a big assed house plus other out buildings, and it took them years to start taxing him on the house+land instead of just the land.
My next door neighbors bought their property for $41K but the tax office shows they paid $14K.
Gotta love the government ;)
What REALLY pisses me off though is according to GA appraisal regulation, I don't have a 3rd bathroom because it's in the basement which is a daylight basement and mostly underground. And even though the basement is 100% finished, the value per sq is only 1/2 of the value of the rest of the house. Crazy!
