    Canon 580EX / 550EX Flashs ( Question )

Can the 580EX be used to wirelessly trigger the 550EX flash via IR or visible light from the main flash head ?

I have both the 580EX and the 550EX ... and I can't seem to get them to work as a master / slave together.... any idea's ???

    Thanks in advance

make sure they're both in the same Group and one is set to slave while the other is set to master. If your using one on cam, the other should fire. If you're using on camera flash to synch, that may be the problem. Might be eaiser to just go get strobes.

Yeah I have the correct group settings and the 580EX on the top of the flash shoe and the 550EX set to slave a few feet in front of me. Turned to make sure the wireless sensor is facing me.

But it does'nt seem to work.

I have two set ups set up Canon 10D/580EX and the Canon D60/550EX most of the time when I travel. But for this upcoming trip I wanted to travel lighter and leave the D60 and strobes at home.

      Going into uncharted territories !
