    WMV Popups

I've been trying to get a WMV to popup a website after a certain period of time. I got the script in there, but then I read about WMP9 not running scripts unless the user ticks the box explicitly. Which I doubt happens very often.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to get popups working on WMVs, or any type of media really, that work with the majority of users and players? (WMP 7-10)

    Any help is appreciated.

You can't use scripting anymore, try DRM. You'll need to pay for a DRM service, encode the files, etc.

Have a look at www.smutlounge.com they have a DRM solution that does what you describe. They have about 20,000 video clips you can use and it works really well.

Let me clear a few things up:

WMVs can do popups. It's called a script command. For this to work the users WMPlayer has to have the "Run script commands when present" enabled. 2 years ago this option was enabled by default. Past 2 years it is off by default.

In other words this is very old news and played out.

Popup windows are possible with DRM as gg1e21 said, but it's a totally different ballgame.
