You do in some airports. In several they even have the bags they'll give to you if you don't have your own
Plus who wants all their stuff banging around the bin? I just put everything into the bag and leave it there - only replacing what I run out of or if the bag finally breaks.
MG - I've almost always bring hairspray through in my little baggie. Go to CVS or Walmart and get some sample hairsprays
