In the offline world people would call them cronies. People talk about cronies regarding politicians all the time. Think Haliburton (sp) and Rumsfeld.
Setting up deals, making deals, doing business to benefit buddies as opposed to the greater good. Defending buddies regardless of whether they're right or wrong. I'm all about defending friends when they're right, but when they're wrong, a "real" friend will tell them so.
Otherwise you're just another "bro".
