the best way is probably by using some sort of DRM protection (Digital Rights Management) for your videos. try www.drmnetworks.com

If you get your hosting through webair, they will set up drm management for you for a small fee

The nut is this: I hate the idea that I'll be spending thousands of dollars in talent/location fees and time, and some goof-balls in Eastern Europe may start selling my content -- but is this overly paranoid?

So:
How effective is watermarking your photos or web videos?

How expensive is DRM, if you buy it on your own, how effective & costly. How much "more' if got lets say with wEbair or a hoster?
And the more you protect, do you alienate you potential customer? thanks!

You can use Java, in combination with cryptic file names and hard to guess paths to stop most, but the serious thieves will know to look for it in their temp directory.
