It's just what's in style today. Give it some time and someone will try and be different and the trend will go to real narrow or something else. It cycles around. Jackie O wore those back in her day.
One thing will date a picture more than anything else and that's the style of sunglasses the person is wearing. I have a ton of pictures of models that I could pass off as current if it weren't for the sunglasses. Now I'll only include sunglasses in a picture if the model has to face the sun and needs them to keep from squinting.
There are those that ignore what the current trend is and only wear what looks good on them and there are those that will wear whatever the current trend or fad is no matter how ridiculous it makes them look.
