Why take a per-signup on cams?

I don?t understand why people take a per-signup payout for cam products. I checked out some of our affiliates and they would have lost out BIG if we would pay out per signup. Most get 40% rev share... but even with the 30% it is pretty high.

Some of these customers are pretty hardcore. I wouldn?t even have the time to chat as much as they do.

Becouse a ton of people sign up for cam sites for a dollar, or for free and do not upsale once. You roll the dice in hopes they buy a cam show, or you take your $ upfront and dont care if they upsale or not.

Yea, you are right. I got 2 cam sites going up myself soon... from which I get a %. They are powered by our system... and I would NEVER ever want to not get a %.

Maybe if you have a lot of volume revshare will pay off in the long run, but as an affiliate doing a couple joins a day, you're generally losing money with revshare unless you get lucky.

Yeah, personally i go for the per free signup with high payouts... my volume just isn't high enough to come anywhere NEAR that with rev share in my experience.

Depends on the traffic. Some traffic sources, will bring whales and a good annual member value on %, some sources of traffic are cheapskates who will be better to capatilize on PPS. I like to test the traffic on % for the first qtr. and then make a decision.

You are right, it also depends on the program... free signup or not... and so on. I am happy with our setup; we got a free signup and those who signup get access to videos and pictures for free... makes them come back. I hope that I can get samscams.com online by January, if I just had some more time

OF course, some sponsors only offer PPS ... but certainly, in the long run, revshare is usually a much better deal for the affiliate, esp. if you are bringing a lot of new sign-ups ... A whale will come along eventually to make up for the many that spend $2 and never come back. If you only bring in the odd sign-up, then PPS may be worth your while.

If you read old threads one fo the biggest and most vocal cam programs on here says they lose money when they run specials on the PPS. So the revhsare versus PPS is pretty much even money but you get it upfront.

I'd maybe go per join with 404 or exit traffic. Any targetted quality source I'd stick with revshare.

Affiliates don't have the luxury of seeing how much revenue their free cc verify signups generate so they don't know how much they'd earn on a % model. I've sent over 10,000 clickcash signups where I was paid $40+ even though many of those signups never spent a dime. Sure I'd love to know how much revenue all those signups generated so I could compare how much I would have earned on a % model, but I never will.

I've done many tests sending the same amount of hits from the same source to a free cc verify program (hsn, streamate, clickcash, etc...) and also to different % programs. Without a doubt, the $/unique is always higher on the traffic sent to the free cc verify payout programs. I will also wait many months after to compare so that residual revenue from the % program can trickle in, yet it still never catches up. The whole key to making money on the % model is hoping you land a few whales that spend a few thousand each month. I'm still getting checks from traffic sent to streamray in 2002.

100% agreed .. you have to do a LOT of volume for it to be even worth risking revshare.

I don't see why people would take the per signup option, maybe if they're in a hurry to pay the rent it's understandable, but for that you should go for PPS paysites.
