For a week after Hurricane Wilma without power the fire boxes on the sides of the buildings resounded a incessent BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP 24 hours a day that just about drove me nucking futs! Sleeping with the windows closed was NOT an option. I heard it for days after the power came back on and it tripped off. After putting up with that my tolerance for minor annoyances skyrocketed.
