Another update on my dog.
First off, thank you very much to everybody who has written or called with their support. I'm sorry for those I was short with on the phone today. Obviously I have not been myself and I've been a bit preoccupied.
With that said.....
I spent most of the day tracking down the dogs that did this and I found them. Turns out they have a history of doing this and although multiple reports have been filed with the County Animal Services people, NOTHING has ever been done to prevent this from happening again. Yes, I said AGAIN. The same dogs did this to another dog 2 months ago. Cayman got it MUCH worse though.
The county told me they would call back in response to my complaint in 3 weeks. Fuck that. I drove to their office and stuck Cayman's Vet pictures under their nose along with the reference numbers for 3 other complaints filed in the past on these dogs. All of a sudden it went from 3 weeks to tomorrow or Friday AT THE LATEST.
The owner of the other dogs live in a rental house. I am filing law suits against the owner of the house for allowing their tenants to keep such animals, I am filing against the dog owner himself, and I am filing against the County for negligence.
I have independent witnesses who can verify that the dogs were loose last night. I have pictures of the dogs and a fecal sample since one of them decided to shit in the yard.
Cayman is home now. He won't eat or drink much and he's clearly scared shitless.
