I was on my way back from SD visiting the parents for the holiday and the girl needed to use the ladies room so I pulled over in oceanside at a BK... as im leaving, this hoopty ford taurus pulls up next to me and is going to turn left. from that point on i just had a bad feeling... next thing i know the guy floors and turns right and side swipes my car and hits it. Now im thinking "well thats just fucking great" and then the guy fucking floors it damn near ripping my fucking headlight out of the damn bumper! at this point im fucking pissed and hauling ass after him! he hops on the 5 south and tries to outrun me (which he almost did cuz on the clover leaf, my shit was GRINDING like a mofo)... after 10 miles of chasing the bastard and talking on the phone with the police he finally pulls over and jets in some side streets (police told me to stop following, pfft)!!! The good news is at least at that point I already had the license plate number and cops were on the way... anyhow here's how it ended:

Damn....sorry about your car! Had an interesting thing happen about two weeks ago. We had a woman drive thru the front of our store! Crashed her car right thru it. She decided to put car in reverse, immediately back out and and beat a hasty getaway.

Funny thing tho...she left her entire front bumper laying in our store...complete with license plate. sigh. Police took it for evidence.

Haven't heard anything back on it yet, but I'm sure they've found her by now. We took pics and I'm still laughing over it. The pic is def internet worthy...funny stuff.

This is the second time within 6 months that someone has driven thru the front of our stores....in two different locations even! Is this that common? I'm tripped about it.

There was problems with a few cars going forward when the cars were in reverse. I think one of them was AUDI.. , they had a re-call. people got killed backing out of their driveways and the car would jump in drive and run people down by mistake.

A chick in a pickup truck recently made a left turn and plowed in to my wife's pontiac sunfire (in a frickin' mall parking lot...of all places). Fortunately she didn't split the scene, though.

$6,800 damage. The other chick's insurance paid it since she was at fault.

We unloaded the car at the dealership after it was rebuilt.

Sorry to hear about your wheels, Hit and runs do suck big time.

I had an accident a couple of months ago, I can't believe this happened
I was pulling out of a parking space at the mall when this bright yellow parking pole jump out and rammed the side of my Jimmy. Damn thing did $3000 damage and not even 1 sorry for it.
Good thing I have excellent insurance, got it fixed better than it was before the damn pole decided to hit me. Didn't cost me anything. Renewed my insurance a month later and no extra charges, same with the driver licence.
The adjuster found the parking pole 100% at fault, that made me shake my head a bit.

I wish I could post a pic of my friend who ran his truck into a house. Poor guy! He has seizures I'd say about 2-3 times a year and he had one while driving and ran right into someone's kitchen. Thankfully, no one got hurt. He still has a clipping of the newspaper story along with the picture. In hindsight, it was pretty funny. I'm sure at the time everyone was not laughing.

not sure about in the states but here in canada, I seen someone do a hit and run, and i pulled over as a eyewitness and waiting for the cops.. they basically said that even if they find a red car with grey scratches on it there is nothing they can do, and its not worth "investigating" thats what insurance is for.

I than ask the cops... so lets say we did get his licence plate # and you were to catch them, what is the fine for this.. he said 100 bucks, unless someone is hurt badly.

I got in a fucken car accident a while, got rear ended at a fucken red light, you hear the braking at the last minute, so I think we got hit at 60+ km an hour... still fucks you up.

As for cars hitting houses, it happened to my gf's friend... she lives on rez and a car hit the fucken house... funny thing is they just left the fucken car and went home two houses down.

update! just got a response from the office who i dealt with last night:

"No luck on finding the person, but the correct plate of teh vehicle that hit
you had a U in it, not a V. That plate you provided came back to a newer
Infinity, the same plate replacing the V with the U comes back to a 1990
Ford out of Oceanside. I went to the house of the registered owner and found
that the family their had recently moved in and had no way to contact the
previous residents. I also spoke with the owner of the house (it was a
rental) and he advised me the family had broken their lease and left in a
hurry without leaving forwarding information.

So, with that, the report will document the information above. You can tell
your adjuster that we have the correct plate but it has not been registered
in over six months and the address on the old registration is not current.
Good luck with getting your deductable waived. Again, I am listing that the
other vehicle had no insurance on the report so if you carry "uninsured
motorist decuctable waiver" you should be covered. Your insurance company,
of course, will have the final say in that matter though."

So now im just waiting for the adjuster to call me to see if I have to pay the deductible or not

This has happened to me twice. The first time the people got away. I had to pay my $500 deductible. 3 months later they found the lady using my partial plates. I decided not to press charges ( i had to goto physical therapy so I technically was injured). Got my $500 back.

Second time around it was Super Bowl Sunday....stopped at a light on a one way rode. Guy comes and tries to squeeze on the right of me and takes off the back 3/4 of my G35. I chased after him with the cops on the phone and they bagged the drunk that night.
