I am glad I thought ahead

Just bought 2 cords of wood a couple weeks ago. Cold and windy outside. Warm and toasty inside.

You're going to burn pine in your fireplace?

Looks like it should burn real wood and I bet at one time it did.

because it builds up creosote in your chimney and can cause a major fire

I grew up in east texas which is all pine forest, but nobody there burns it in the fireplace because its dangerous.

Don't see why it can't now. If there is no rear clean out, it might be a PITA, but it is still doable (I would think).

                                Creosote?

Depending on how many fires and how big they are and the kind of chimney I guess.

I have burned a ton (literally) of pine at my prior home, and I have been burning wood mixes including pine here since 1985. Never had it swept or had any chimney fires.
