When you refer to shaving in this instance, or in general, does it only involve misreporting raw hits/unique hits/join hits/etc., or not counting actual sales?
As for your question, I think the answer would depend on the intent: do you want to vilify and punish the company, or help affiliates gain proper compensation? For the former, outting them on the boards would be the ideal solution since it would hurt their rep, steer curious/future affiliates away, and probably cause existing affiliates to stop promoting them. If it's for the latter, then the class action lawsuit would be ideal because it would allow the cheated affiliates to receive all due revenue.
It may not be as clear cut as above, and one outcome may lead to the other while achieving both aims. If I were an affiliate of that program I'd certainly want to know about their illicit activities one way or the other.
