I'm looking for a decent dedicated server, anyone have any reason not to go with 1&1? They look like they've got a pretty decent deal with a dedicated managed server for 79.99p/m 40gb with 1000gb transfer, does anyone have any experience with them or know of a better deal?

Being in this biz since early '97 if I've learned anything, it's that you lose way more money then you save when you get cheap hosting. Personally for my mission critical stuff I host at National Net, and for everything else I host at Phat Servers. I had other cheap virtual accounts around for different class c's, but slowly, one by one they all had problems making them unusable. That's a cheap price. I definitely can't help you at that price but I have to be honest when I say that you better set your expectations prettly low for performance at support at that price because it's BS!
Power, rackspace, operating system (If it's Redhat ES) cost almost that much let alone ammortizing any hardware cost, support or bandwidth.
