I don't know what you mean by ID code on AVI files, but there is some meta-data on DV AVI files that one films with mini-DV cameras like the date/time it was shot (according to the camera's clock). You can view that info in some capture or editing apps interface, like Scenalyzer.com for example. I am not sure if there is a way to change this info.

I also know that when you encode AVI files to end user formats like wmv or mpeg that you can change the meta-data like the copyright owner using the options in your encoding app like Cleaner XL for example. That way if the end user looks at the properties for the wmv or mpeg or whatever file it would have your copyright name or url listed.
