If people were making up shit on a professional board, and the girls were hearing "yeah - we heard (insert fictitious element here) about you from (insert board name here), so we'll have to deny your application for internship" or something similar everywhere they went - I'd say that cause would exist for a lawsuit.
Of course, if it's not that severe, it's also possible that, frankly, the gals just need to wipe the sand out of their pussies and get on with life.
