    AVN Online (Need anything??)

    Hey everyone. I just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself to the board. I joined AVN a few weeks ago after five years at one of the larger video companies.

    If anyone needs anything from AVN, feel free to contact me. If you need exposure through the magazine, and or websites we are here to help.

    That's it - I look forward to meeting everyone at the shows!

              People have been requesting that when you send out flyers, cards, and so on that mention the adult industry that you either stop or obscure them with an envelope or other covering so "others" who may see the mail not know that the intended person is in the porn biz. Does not matter to me personally, yet it has been a running concern.

              Oh and while I am at it with suggestions. Think you all could make some magazine binders to store past issues in. I have them all dating back to around the first issue and it would be nice to be able to have AVN binders to put them in.

                  Yes I've seen that complaint on the boards. I came from a company that sent out a few million peices of snail mail every month, so I know a top concern of people is have their privacy respected. I'll mention it to the powers that be here.

                      Not sure that they would go that far too supply everyone with binders- you do get the magazines for free! You could print out some stickers....

                                          Hi Chris, nice to meet you. I have been going to AVN shows for the last 2 years, 3 or 4 of them. I also attended a couple of shows back in the day (IA2000 was one of them) I have e-mailed, signed up online numerous times, bought badges, name it, yet have I still cannot for some reason manage to get on the magazine subscription list. Can you tell me how to actually get the magazine sent to me?

                                                      Hey Chris Welcome to the board. Can you look up for me when the article about HardcoreModeling goes in the magazine? I got aproached by (Jay) and he needed pictures etc. Sent it to him but there was never any kind of interview. I emailed him about it a week ago and no answer (yet) Can you check that out for me. I think it goes in the AVN mag not the AVN-online one.

                                                                      we were all planning to go too, but we will be going to the costa rica bash instead....already booked tickets

                                                                              Sorry you disagree with the timing of the Expos. The decision was made before I started. Some people do not like the timing, while others like the fact that they don't have to wait in huge taxi lines to go to the other conventions. For people who have business at both conventions it is very convenient. I'm sure they will look at how this one goes, and make changes for 2007 if needed. Thanks for your input!

                                                                                                                      Hey Chris its a little bit early to get into a discussion about how webmasters feel about the negativity of the shows - but if your jumping into it - I would love to meet those webmasters you speak of who think their wont be huge lines - and I would feel that there are few companies who do have business at both shows (much less the people) to stretch their resources so much.

                                                                                                                      I sincerely hope that AVN does listen to the webmasters- this year as much as I want to go, the Vegas show is simply out of control (including $$) and organization for me to make it worth while. I can use the same amount of money to visit 2 to 3 shows and do the same networking / sales. That is why I am going to miss this show. I love the folks at AVN, just it has gotten way out of hand. I will do the florida show - but I dont see the value anymore in Vegas.

                                                                                                                                                              I understand and empathize guys... as I said I'm not sure what went into the decision making - but at this point I dont think they can or are able to change. Yes we do listen to input from Webmaster's and clients alike and we are always striving to make the experience a valuable one. As I said before I was not here when the decision was made - but I will definitly relay the input I am getting here.
