I honestly thought that automatic circumcision of new-born babies (i.e. not for medical reasons but only for the looks of it)... was over...

Seriously..I highly doubt your kid will die, get an infection, or any other problem from it...no one I know of had problems because he is circumcised...no one that I know of had problems because they aren't....I'm sure some isolated case and small % of incident can happen in both situation...but you can say that about pretty much everything...so again..it basically comes down to the appearance aspect of it...
I dont think it worth the pain the baby will endure...sure he wont remember it...who cares..will you hurt your child on purpose and justify it by "He wont remember as an adult"...I also think he should be able to make the choice himself...BUT....i'll say it again...it comes down to: Do you want him to look "normal" BUT cause him pain (and a minor risk of infection etc.) or do you want to leave him as he is...without any surgery, at the risk of him getting a weird look from a girl who see an uncut penis for the first time....(he could still decide to have the surgery done later)....

you forced your daughter to get her ears pierced when she was 4? obviously it wasnt her own decision because a 4 year old cannot understand nor comprehend why they would need/want their ears pierced. other then her being raised around/taken care of older woman(who prob all have their ears pierced) thus making her think she "needs" to have them because in her mind "all females" have them or your wife wanted you to get her ears pierced out of tradition or it being the proper 'lady like' thing to do.
