Sounds like somethin' Hitler would have approved doesn't it?

What's scary is with present laws, if your kid is 'certified' by a mandatory psychiatric evaluation your kid would then fall into the category of experimentation. Nowadays the courts can snatch your kid for any number of reasons even from school and tell you about it later. If you bitch about it they throw you in jail or some psych ward and put chemicals in you. There's a huge fight about this going on all over the states.

In the UK at least Prince Charles stepped in and put his foot down regarding using psychiatric drugs on kids under 18. It's a big money maker and if your doctor or some court or school official gets your kid certified they get a cut from the prescription costs.

                  Sucks don't it?

i wouldnt trust the opinions stated on that site, i'm not sure if they are giving the fair shake to the epa

Read it on the epa site
                    http://www.epa.gov/fedrgstr/EPA-GENE...-12/g18010.htm

some intersting facts to take note of..

                    ---------------

EPA believes the federal government should use all of its
authorities to make clear that certain kinds of human research can
never be acceptable. In particular, we regard as unethical and would
never conduct, support, require, or approve any study involving
intentional exposure of pregnant women, infants, or children to a
                    pesticide.
                    ----------------

The Common Rule has been promulgated in regulations by 15 federal
departments and agencies, including EPA. In addition, the Central
Intelligence Agency must comply with all subparts of 45 CFR part 46
under Executive Order 12333. The Common Rule establishes a
comprehensive framework for the review and conduct of proposed human
research to ensure that it will be performed ethically. The central
requirements of the Common Rule are: (1) That people who participate as
subjects in covered research are selected equitably and give their
fully informed, fully voluntary written consent; and (2) that proposed
research be reviewed by an independent oversight group referred to as
an Institutional Review Board (IRB), and approved only if risks to
subjects have been minimized and are reasonable in relation to
anticipated benefits, if any, to the subjects, and the importance of
the knowledge that may reasonably be expected to result.

Cliffnotes... this isnt about testing pesticides on retards , its about NOT testing them on kids and pregnant women.

Seems pretty clear they need verbal and written consent, i would think that would disqualify any mentally handicapped people..

but i haven't finished reading yet so..

i think the part about the testing kids is only if the testing wasn't on purpose ( i.e. a pesticide spill ). They make it pretty clear that they need oral and written approval from any test subject and no children or pregnant women for an INTENTIONAL test.

I think the article was a bit misleading , like if wal-mart banned kids from buying video games, but didnt say anything about mentally handicapped people and someone made an article titled " WAL-MART BEGINS SELLINg VIOLENT GAMES TO RETARTED PEOPLE "

or NIKE SELLS SHOES TO CONVICTED PEDOPHILES

The government has a history of experimenting on it's citizens:

Stephen Johnson is a career EPA employee who has headed its
pesticide program for the past four years. Under his watch,
EPA began a program called ?CHEERS? -- or the Children's
Environmental Exposure Research Study. This program enlisted
families who use pesticides in their homes to sign up to
videotape their infants in order to document the side effects
of pesticide exposure. For their participation, families
received $970 each, a camcorder and clothing for their child.
The American Chemistry Council, a chemical industry trade
group, provided a portion of funding for this study.

The program has been canceled but WTF were they thinking?
I was looking for a job, and then I found a job
And heaven knows I'm miserable now

Sticking my two cents in - how do you think the kids got the mutated dna in the first place - might wanna do a little research on the 1950s and the "testing" that was done on the general public without their knowledge. At least some are getting some reparations now from the gov't after they found out and went to court and won
