Thanks to Usenet, trolling became the first literary art form generated soley by the internet. Authough people pretend to despise trolls, everyone tries it sooner or later. Most just come off as obvious, petty, and annoying, and get ignored. Few have the broad knowledge and intuitive understanding of behavioral psychology to troll well even once or twice, and people who can do it consistently are very rare.
Labret would have been a trolling God on Usenet. And as anyone who understands that medium knows, that is a high compliment.
