Question for the search engine guru's

Do you find it best not to have the #1 spot for your keywords on the engines?

I seem to have better ratios with listings in the 5th- 10th spot

How do better ratios help if your 5th spot only gets 20% of the visitors of the 1st spot?? I prefer being on No. 1 with 1:600 rather than being on No. 5 with 1:400...

so, it would follow if what you have to sell is geared towards webmasters, you are RIGHT on target

I never really thought of it that way either... I almost always subconsciously ignore like the top 3 as "crap".... Weird.

Thats from the same serp. The top hits are from number 1 spot and the others are from spots 3 AND 4 on the serps. Same term, same search results, cept one link is first and then the last stats are listed 3rd and 4th.

You want number 1 spot. It produces way more then the others.

How would you drop down? You must be better then me if you get to choose which spot that precisely.

Your description and Title are key for relevant click through regardless of position in the Top 5. I spent enough time in SEO and worked with enough mainstream Fortune 500 clients to show them that it's not always #1 position that wins but rather the best and most relevant result near the top.

It's not fair for anyone to tell you that they can determine your exact spot. If you're anywhere in the Top 5 on Google just make sure that your description and titles are well optimized as they can be.
You deserve to make more money. I'll help you do that.

I didnt drop down, for the serp shown i have 1st , 3rd and 4th spot at google currently.

Pages are similar but bottom line and the point i was making is, first is worth more money then 4th or 5th..im sure you can clarify that.

Well of course we still need them to click, but thats the easiest part. Getting the results is the work.
