    ever done a century before? - alcoholics in here

    so this guy i know is going to attempt the centure with STRONG 8% beer. he seems to be a hard drinker but i dont know if he would make all 100 shots down. rules are no puking and it has to be a shot, and we are taking bets if he can do it or not.. have you ever done it?

              i have tried many times back in my university days.


              i usually am too hammered by 80 minutes or so.

              the first 20 minutes...its no problem..you are laughing at how easy it will be..lots of time to pour your shot of beer before the minute is up

              well around 60 minutes...you can barely get the beer in the shotglass..lol

                      Is the puking optional? I don't think it should count if you do 100 shots and puke them up. 100 shots should be around 100 ounces right? Which is less than 9 12oz beers.

                          1 shot = 1 oz.

                          60 minutes (60 shots)= 5 twelve oz. beers

                          100 shots = 1 hour 40 minutes to drink 11.8 beers

                          Tough but not impossible. I would actually like to try this.

                                                          He should aim for an hour of beer first, and then go from there. That's a shot per minute for an hour... and a nice warm up - because, as Phoenix says, it's the last part that's a real bitch.

                                                          And there's no way he should do it with a strong beer - especially his first time... if so, he's gonna boot.

                                                          I've attempted to do it a couple of times in my youth, but only once successfully (and never again! :-P). I'm also 6' 2", and have weighed at least 180 lbs since I graduated High School.

                                                          A true shot is 1.5 ounces. Therefore, a true century = 150 ounces of beer in an hour and 40 minutes. That's a bit more than a half a case of beer in under the length of time of a decent movie.

                                                          One more bit of advice - stay in an area that's easily mopped up.

                                                                                                                      I know that in UK volumes, 20 fluid ounces is 1 pint. In American volumes it's 16 apparently. So 6.25 pints = 100 shots. And if you were smart, you'd pour jugs of beer and dip your shot into it to fill it up rather than individually filling up every shot. For one, you'd be drinking more and ensuring you actually did 100 shots worth of beer and secondly you wouldn't have to deal with the foam as much.
