So nikki nova can leave the hospital within a week after the accident

A woman that makes more money than most of you, who didnt feel like buying health insurance, who had a HORRIBLE accident (at least thats the feeling i got after the 50 posts about it) but can go home a week after it happened.

There are millions of people every day who REALLY need money.

Why did this woman (are the numbers public yet?) get 1000's, i guess maybe even 10.000's.

She doesnt post here. Im pretty confident she doesnt give a rats ass if something happened to a member of gfy.

From the first message on i thought it was a bit silly but i didnt feel like starting drama about it but now that i read she can go home after a week i'm really starting to wonder how bad it really was.

Why did she deserve all this money? First of all I dont know her income but it simply has to be very decent to very very good. 2nd from what i read here, even if she cant afford it all there are monthly payment solutions. If not nobody would be able to get medical help in the US. The health system may suck but its not a fucking 3rd world country.

Adam who bashed everybody who questioned him. It made me sick.

I think flowers, cards and fruit baskets is what she deserved to get. Not a shitload of money.

Im happy for her that she can leave the hospital. I dont wish anyone an accident, big or small.

obviously you haven't been in the hospital recently

the process is VERY streamlined now and they have finally figured out that they can send people home to recover and it just as well

my wife had heart surgery 2 months ago and it was a 15 hours stay in the hospital

once they figured out nikki's brain was in the clear, i imagine they weren't worried anymore, and figured she just needed rest

I dont think anyone did anything horrible , they just went about it in the wrong way.

Nikki didn't ask for any help so we can't really blame her and adam was only "trying" to help so we can't blame him. I just hope a few people have learned a few lessons from this.

The biggest being.. GET HEALTH INSURANCE NOW to anyone who doesn't have it and plans on riding horses or anything dangerous that would normally require health insurance or accident insurance.

Yes i am because . I HAD A CRACKED SKULL and BLEEDING BRAIN. and they sent me home the NEXT DAY. 1 ct scan and dont fall asleep.

Not only that i have been in the hospital with several friends with concussions , and thats what they do. The induce coma to keep bleeding low and your brain from swelling, ct to see how much blood, if its not serious thats all they can do other than putting a shunt into your brain. If Nikki did not have insurance, that is a mistake on her part I will agree BUT it does not change the fact that she needed help. Nikki does OK I'm sure of it but do you guys have any idea how much it costs to stay in the hospital for even 1 week, getting tests daily, brain scans and all that goes with it? It's going to cost a small fortune, and I am happy to chip in, even if it only covered her medicine for an hour.

Adam asked for help and you had the choice to help or not help. If you did then you did, if you did not... then you did not. Nothing more, nothing less. It's not some great mystery about where the money is going.

I hand out money to homeless every day. I donate to RedCross. I help friends in need. I sponsor children. Why? BECAUSE I CAN!!! I have been very fortunate in life and this job has made me a great deal of money. If I can not use a fraction of that money to help someone in need then all I have worked for is meaningless. You can't take it with you so you may as well enjoy it and help who you can with it while your here.

I can only venture to guess how much an airlift is.

Most likely whatever was donated from GFY was a drop in the bucket as far as total bills go.

I don't really have an opinion on this situation I guess....besides the fact that I think she was irresponsible.

I didn't donate shit. Not because I didn't believe the story...I just didn't see a need too. Besides my online ventures I have a job that only gives me work about 3 to 4 months out of the year, and in that 3 to 4 months I only work a couple of times a week. I pay out the ass for COBRA insurance so I don't have to go find a 9 to 5 job to cover me in case something goes wrong. So i didn't feell the need to donate to somebody who makes 5X more than I do...who wasn't responsible enough to get health insurance.

I hope the best for her. Hopefully you guy's money you donated goes to the right place.

I dont think its so strange that people would use this opportunity to inform others of the foolsihness of not having medical/accident insurance. I'm pretty sure everyone knows the costs of hospitals ( thus the need for accident insurance )

Would you be a bit cynical if you went to a local restaurant and they asked you to donate money to help an employee who was hurt at work by the restaurants negligence and they didnt get their employees insurance ?

It seems to me , that helping out people who need it the most would be the priority , most people just wanted to know where nikki fit on that list thats all. Hey I'm not going to say anything bad about the girl. I agree that she prob had no idea people would solicit money on a wm board. I hope that she recovers well and learns to get med. insurance since I'm sure she can afford it.
