The film repeated accusations that the U.S. has systematically attempted to destroy filmed evidence of the use of chemical arms in the Fallujah assault.

It provided clinching evidence that incendiary bombs known as Mark 77, a new, improved form of napalm, was used in Fallujah attack, in violation of the UN Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons.

The United Nations banned the use of the napalm gas after pictures of a naked wounded girl in Vietnam shocked the world.

Saw the film last night, very disturbing....

what amazes me is people's ignorance and that its still gospel.

funny how naplam was used against the japanese and koreans and nobody said shit about it. nor has anybody banned the use of three fuel air .. which far nastier than naplam was..
three inert gases that are harmless by themselves... once combined.. they cause a small explosion and sucks the oxygen within the blast area.. instant suffocation.
designed to deal with the russian submarine pens and bunker systems...
yet that is still on the accepted weapon list.... funny how the press doesnt touch that one since there is no film footage or so call proof.

                You know what amazes me....

People are arguing what is a chemical weapon vs what isn't.
And even comming up with other worse examples of what is ok.

Am I the only person that views this as complete insanity?

                It's like saying...

Buddy, what's it going to be for you today?

                You have your choice of

White phosperious granades, Napalm or Three feul air.

Which do you prefer we kill you with today?

That was no WMD. A WMD would be what Saddam used on our troops in the Gulf War. Not many people know about this. I have a friend that was there and caught a very mild amount of this WMD. And now he grows no hair anywhere on his body. He has to protect his eyes because of no eye lashes and has to take some medicine issued only from the government.

That is what folks do when they have fuck all left in their lives to think about. It will end up a technical discussion on the most effective forms of weaponary.

Of course the US uses chemical weapons - that's the shit they have been testing for decades in locations outside US borders and contaminated the fuck out of other places and left the populations with problems like a 30% disease rate.

Have they used Napalm in Iraq? Sure looks like like it from the data and burn examples. Others with some qualification have already said it's nothing other than "sneeky" Napalm attacks (these were not high in number) and it's now a subject on the table for discussion with the Pentagon re "use of banned weapons".

The good news on US testing of chemical material is that they have been "evicted" from these test areas and the bad news is Bush plans to take the tests back home to Nevada and continue there. So.. have second thoughts on that nice bit of real estate in Nevada

"Not many people know about this"?? They still avoiding raising the subject of DU? (Depleted Urianium)

WTF do you think "Gulf Syndrome" is BadBrad - a local mosquito attack?

Thanks to the US, the DU readings in Iraq are .. (or were, they are probably far more now) 19 times higher than what is considered safe. There is now an increased rate of cancers and other related diseases such as infact malformations etc.

It was not Saddam that caused this - it's the volume of crap the US dumped in bombings and missle strikes.

He has to protect his eyes because of no eye lashes and has to take some medicine issued only from the government.
That is fucking sad. Even sadder that the guy "has to take some medicine issued only from the government". The govt caused it and now the govt want to be the "cure" and manage his health? It's kinda like getting healthcare from "Dr Death". Gimme a break.

This is known as the GULF WAR SYNDROME and caused by firing our own weapons not at all caused by Saddam...
Many of the soldiers that are there now will eventually also get these symptoms as will the Iraqi civilians. Some even die.
In other words, it's another purely chemical shit.

Hilarious how a cowardly Spaniard and equally clueless Canadian, who have never had a day of military training, nor have seen any of these weapons up close and personal, are such authorities on their use, capabilities, or deployment.

                            Pathetically laughable.

that is not being used as a chemical weapon. If the US had used chemical weapons, it would have been days after the deployment before they sent the marines in.

In response to the post about using DU - the levels that it is controlled at are so low that 19 times those levels is less radiation than you will get flying to Vegas in January - are you cancelling your trip yet?

I cant believe that sheep listen to everything the media throws out there about radiation and none of it is true - not one bit of it - if you have any questions about radiation, DU or for that matter any form of Uranium (by the way DU stands for Depleted which means - no longer radioactive in harmful amounts) I would be happy to answer them for you as I am by trade (retired now) a Radiation Health Physicist and your facts are total BS

BTW - for you fact nuts that love to talk about radiation - did you know that if you live in Denver, Co you recieve more radiation in one year than a worker at a nuclear power plant is allowed to recieve working with the stuff everyday - and if you add in the local controls that most plants have - you recieve about 10 times what theyare allowed - and more importantly - you recieve about 100 times what the average worker at a nuke plant recieve in their lifetime - and you get it all in one year

Keyboard warriors Direct Fiesta, EvilSuperstar, Paul Waters, and a host of others seem to have made a career of regurgitating dis-information from a host of leftist websites. It's really laughable how they attempt to debate those who have real world experience, military service, and weapons training.

ronbotx - gotta agree - although Im out there with my thoughts on how a democracy should run - (hell I hung with members of the SDS in my teens) I also tend to base my judgements and responses on fact and hopefully not fiction - but like you - 12 years running nuke plants for the Navy on submarines and over 20 years as a nuclear physicist with specialty in radiation health/biological radiation effects

Heh, small world. I started off in college as a liberal and when the SDS started telling me I couldn't be in ROTC, that's when I shifted to the right and decided to complete my Army ROTC and get commissioned.

The only use I ever saw of DU in the Army was in Sabot rounds on the M1 tank, and also in some of the armor for the M1.

                                              I got a great idea.

Instead of spending millions and billions of dollars on building weapons.
Instead of arguing if you did or didn't kill or hurt civilians.

How about we build a giant wrestling ring and lock the president, heads of state, etc in it. They can bare knuckle box, shoot, and kill each other.

IE: 2 men enter... 1 man leaves.

The one that comes out is the winner.

That way the only people that get hurt are the ones with the problem.

The funny thing is that DU is used in civilian applications - like commercial airplanes (the weights on the wings) - everyday, and people that dont understand radioactivity make a big deal over rounds of ammunition that are less radioactive than the drinking water in a state park I used to go to in upstate NY.
I actually followed the DU use in the first Gulf War - as the exposure to our own troops came in the form of friendly fire accidents - a total of 120 soldiers that were exposed. All were (and still are being) tested for Uranium levels and effects/changes over the years - and to date not one has developed a single cancer or had any biological change effects. Of the 120 that were exposed, 15 were placed in the watch program for studies as they had fragments of DU still in their bodies. BTW DU's radiation effects are only "possibly harmful" if they get inside the body next to internal organ cells - on the outside the skin filters the radiation to nothing (same as a piece of paper would).
I keep hearing about the DU dust that people breath during these battles - and although officials in the government test everyone to make sure it didnt happen, its kinda waste of money as its hard to breath in bullet fragments. A particle has to be extremely small to be aeresol and airborne - and armor piercing fragments just dont fit that bill

Here we got the typical pathetic attempt for a sissy smut campaign by a small minded, small dicked texan. Trying to learn something from Bush and Rove?

It's in every media, fuckface. Or do you call cnn, cns, washington post, ny times, bbc, etc leftist websites??
Do you call testimonials from marines that were actually in Fallujah not fitted?

Must be great living in the Bush matrix, dumbass...

I think the point that is trying to be made is that all of these media outlets sound like they are shocked and awed by the use of chemicals, and incendiary devices - its all part of the war game and for those that havent been in the middle of things - historically this has been one of the lightest uses of chemical, gas and other devices.
One point that I think you as well as most media outlets have missed is that a bomb with phosphorus is an incendiary device - not a chemical weapon - big difference. They were used at the end of WW2 with great return by Allied forces - they would drop a regular bomb on a roof first to open it - then drop in a phosphorus bomb to take out everyone inside.
The most important fact about war (that just about every military person knows who has served during a war) is that civilians are going to get killed - in great numbers - and tends to make most soldiers pretty much anti-war later on. I know of many of my friends who after serving in Vietnam came home and took part in the marches on Washington to try to end the war - it is sickening to see the civilian casualties day after day.

As far as this new "news" it shouldnt be a surprise to anyone - the British used chemical weapons and incendiary devices against the Iraq people for years - with Churchill being their greatest supporter of their use

The big deal that the Bush and Clinton administrations made about Saddam using chemical weapons against his own people was also a little flawed - he was using them against Iranian insurgents (hmm - sound familiar?) that had taken over some Iraqi towns and there were civilian casualties as well - just like any other war

Get over it - if you dont like the war - do something about it instead of just whining and regurgitating what the uninformed media sensationalizes

Saddam's gas attack that everyone is talking about and that the us government used as a justification for war, after their first justifications turned out to be lies, is the cruel attack on the Kurds in 1988.

In that area was not a sign of Iranian "insurgents"....

                                                          http://www.guardian.co.uk/comment/st...939608,00.html

The big deal that the Bush and Clinton administrations made about Saddam using chemical weapons against his own people was also a little flawed - he was using them against Iranian insurgents (hmm - sound familiar?) that had taken over some Iraqi towns and there were civilian casualties as well - just like any other war

Get over it - if you dont like the war - do something about it instead of just whining and regurgitating what the uninformed media sensationalizes

The Breaking News today is that the pentagon finally had to admit what they denied strongly last week.

If the US was Pinocchio, you could walk straight from San Francisco to Japan.

The US initially denied reports it had used white phosphorus as a weapon in Falluja in November 2004, saying it had been used only for illumination and laying smokescreens.
However, the Pentagon has now confirmed the substance was used as an "incendiary weapon" during the assault, to flush enemy forces out of covered positions, allowing them to be targeted with high explosives.
