The best way to explore Cuba is by car. You will meet the nicest people. And when you leave you are a few families richer. The people are very poor but allways want to party. Varadero has nothing to do with Cuba for me. i had the worst time there. Only 30km (45miles) from Varadero in Cardenas that is where the real Cuba began for me. It ended in Santa Clara where che's mausoleum is. It was one of the best holidays. But.... if you love luxury DON'T GO!! If you want to what a time machine feels like. Then go to Cuba.
