some of the dialogue in the movie was impov!! all of emery (the di) was ad lib as the actor who was hired to do the job was a suckass do kubrick tells emery ( who was a technical advisor for the movie to take the job and the rest was history)

Saw Jarhead last night as well and you are right, it wasn't the same. I still was a great fucking movie, another classic in my mind. Two different eras with two different mentalities.
