An Idea for affiliate program promo tools

Something I am missing when promoting megasites are content other than pictures, banners, movies etc.
What I would like to see them offering is some kind of a "Press Release" that is ziped with pictures and banners to go with it. (softcore)
In the socalled "Press Release" there should be some information on what is going on at your site, maybe new models joining your site with a little info on this model, and all other stuff that could be used to tease visitors into joining your site.

The reason for me wanting this is:
1) first of all because English is not my first language, and even though I can write fairly well, my school english isn't so colorful and lively as it should be to come up with good teasers for my website surfers.

2) I do not have first hand inside information on what is going on at your site. That's why you can do a much better job talking them into visit YOUR SITE!

I truly believe this would be a great tool when promoting your megasite not only for me but for a lot of webmasters. Should be perfect for any kind of blog sites, review sites etc. and for my site at http://www.sexual-amateurs.com

Maybe even 2 versions should be made available.. One short version with only 5 to 10 lines of "right on" text and one longer more elaborating version that would make about an A4 page of text.

wow i am in the middle of doing this for 3 of my tours (one is not launched yet) but i have something like this coming that affiliates through pimproll will be allowed to use... have a tour launching and tons of promo before i can get this out though

RSS feeds could be a great tool for some I am sure. but it will also have it's limmitations regarding design and layout... Personally I would prefer to be able to alter and edit it, but maybe others have different oppinions on that.

So you know guys, I have been hired to do this before by companies so i know some out there have to be doing it. And ive done similar work for not only paysites but for affiliate programs too.

Which is also why i couldnt imagine having tours without it. Lots of ideas to build on from working with paysite owners and affiliate program managers over the years.

I have been thinking about this before. I would be great, but if used for SEO or Blogs, it´s probably not such a good idea, since a lot of sites will post the same text.

However, it would often be nice to have some readymade text for promotion.

I know writing content/press is probably not a program's idea of "time well spent" but I'd love to see some PR pre-made - duplicate content or not. Us non-lazy affiliates would be able to take the basic theme and wrap it around our own text/copy.

An example would be Flirt4Free which offers porn stars each month for their VIP members. They don't offer this in their promo tools but some of us promoting them go to the site, get the details, date/time and a promo pic with the copy they write and push it out on our own sites.

Imlive/PussyCash has theme weekends all the time advertised on the site. Again, a lot of affiliates grab this copy and can change it while keeping the main message the same.

I guess it comes down to whether or not programs want to do the work or leave it to the "out of the box" affiliates? I'd think a happy medium would be nice - at the very least allow me to opt-in to notices about upcoming promotions with links, etc. - even a non-HTML, text-only simple message.

The really ambitious programs can make specific promo material (VSCash uses "live" banners that rotate when a new show is coming up, for e.g.) and push it out to affiliates in several forms, incl. putting in their affiliate area.

I don't agree with you there. How many blogs are there on the internet? How many partner programs are there to join? Surely not all sites will post the same news, at least not the same day...
If your theory was right we would only need one TGP as well, allthough you may be right on SEO, but hey... 2 out 3 aint bad

I was mainly thinking SEO here, a lot of sites with the exact same "content" would be "noticed" by the SE´s - but as a start, it would be great with some text, that could be edited to not be exactly the same as what everyone else is posting....But you are right about the other thing, there´s millions of sites and millions of surfers...

This is some of my thoughts exactly. I don't know what's going on inside the members area on all the sites out there, and I wouldn't even wanna find out on my own if you gave me free access, cause it would be much too time consuming. As the webmaster/owner of such sites you have first hand information that can be used to sell sell sell to end users. Information i do not have.

- I worked as a sales person for microsoft before. I started selling software that I knew at first and did pretty well. Later on I was transfered to be seeling developer tools from Microsoft, - tools which I didn't know how to use myself, with the result that my sales rate dropped and I started looking for other things to do...
My point is that it is easyer to sell something you are familiar with, and I am not familar enough with your sites to tell anyone why they should join yours instead of another.

Also RSS would be great, but it wouldn't work for me or for most blog sites. Why? Because most such sites want to work with different partner programs. Selling the same sites day after day will only loose the site bookmarks. Most sites like mine would only have 2 RSS feeds at the most imo.

Also I would like this to be flexible. Maybe i am a lazy affiliate, but i like to design things myself. Plugins that doesn't fit my site will never be used. That's why I would like to see it as a zip file with different banners, pictures and text I could use to make the result appear as I want it to...

You know, I asked for something similar earlier; how about site descriptions -all I got was "go to the tour pages or the program"... lol...most is just talk about ratios and updates with FHGs.

Some few sites like Met-Art have description, and their letters from teen beauty is a very nice way to stay informed.
I think for the TGP guys its useless, but for others that has some niche sites with fewer sponsors, its a very good thing, because most productive sales does not come from galleries... they come from mainsites with some text

I'm sorry to say that after 2 weeks no one has contacted me with anything near the requested tool even if they promised so. I also mailed this to most affiliate programs I am registered with but got no response from that either even if they always encourage affiliates to cantact them if help is needed...

funny you should mention this we have Our new Promo tool coming out in like a week called "PromoPods". which will be free mini sites and free hosted galleries built with a click. they will also be great Search Engine Food..

Might even launch it this week stay tuned first ones to know are our affiliates
