what about if you worked the counter at the local adult shop and sold the costume in debbie does peter
are you now in the industry?
If I drive traffic and sales to a paysite, I'm contributing my part in making a living and also driving business to a site. The net profit that the site owner makes pays for more shoots, more design work, the make up artist, boxcover artists, etc etc. If I am contributing to the lifeblood of the industry, then how am I not a part of it?
You are using a very strict definition when this is very fluid in nature.
and why do all of you support people like NOFX and citizen caine and laugh then turn around and want to burnn him at the stake when he says some shit you dont like.
This is going out on a limb...but I'd have to say that Ron Jeremy's limo driver is a bit further along in the porn industry than some two bit titty bar CO-manager from Tampa. I mean, what does a co-manager even do? Make sure that there are no turds on the bathroom floor and that the puke gets cleaned up right away? This thread rocks!!!
and that some of you need to get over it and realize you are pretty much just like any other guy or gal who signed up on this board yesterday
True, but to this point I'll also add that there are or have been several newbs here who could stand to run their keyboards a lot LESS, shut their mouths a bit more, and humble themselves just enough to ask a few of the long-timers around here for a bit of advice. It would serve their goals a lot more than playing mister attitude for 11 hours a day every day.

Anyway, thanks for answering my question.
Have a good night.
goodnight
and just to let you know I have done biz with at least a dozen people on this board and I have 4 sites up now
hmm.. I only have about 35 posts here at gfy. Does that mean I'm not in this industry either? lol
edit: oh.. and I didn't register until 2002.. pftt.. wtf am I doing here lol
yea, you are lucky honey, since you joined in 2002 you "might" be part of the industry, me I was stupid enough to not joined till 2003. I guess ill have to wait a few more years before im part of the industry
Why hotlink some college kids sig if you have 4 sites up? I host my sig on my own servers, that way I can track the impressions. Are they blogspot sites? Myspace? Geocities?
I'd have to disagree here. Affiliates are as much a part of this industry as anyone else.... designers, story/ad copy writers, content photographers/producers, paysite owners, adult traffic brokers, tgp owners, link list owners, models, stunt cocks, ALL of us are cogs in the wheel that comprises this industry, and we are all interdependant in some way. Even the "stand alone" paysite owners who think they are solo entities, as at some point somewhere along the way either directly or indirectly their business depends to some degree however small, on other people in the biz. Anyone who has bought traffic or ad spots, anyone who has bought content, anyone who has arranged a traffic trade with another webmaster.... everyone is included and represents a part of this biz. Doesn't matter how peripheral or how small their role is, on the whole everyone is or can be important or useful in some way.

maybe you should start this whole thread over from the begining
I NEVER CLAIMED TO BE ANY THING AND THIS THREAD IS TO PRETTY MUCH THROW DIRT ON ALL THE WANNABES
NEVER SAID I WAS IN THE "ADULT ONLINE INDUSTRY"
nevermind its useless,
you all win
you are all rich and in the industry i was wrong about everything
end of thread OK
congrats on making yourself look like an asshat.
stellar fuckin job man!
SIG TOO SMALL! Maximum 1200x600 button and no more than 30 text lines of ALL SIZES and COLORS. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 6240x4800 instead of a 1024x800.
this one line makes you part of the industry "I also manage the 2257 database and 2257 requirments for Adult.com/Playboy"
but you already knew that this thread was not aimed at you,,right?
do you understand where I am coming from and who this is directed toward
I am talking about the people who post on here and claim to be such and such and etc etc and have millions and millions and in the biz for 8 years etec etc
all hot fuckin air
Thank someone you have such liberal bosses allowing you to speak your opinion and keep your job. Without all the bullshit here, I doubt this board would be so populer and a money maker for the owners. Just enjoy it
