Bow or Crossbow

I think a crossbow personally myself.

A crossbow is for fun and a bow is for skill

In combat, if you have a crossbow and it fucks up you're fucked. You can make a bow and some arrows in a short time if you know what you're doing.

The 'need' for a crossbow isn't there anymore for me. I like the control of a bow especially with wild boar. Sometimes you gotta get up in a tree quick and a crossbow ain't cuttin' it when you're pointin' down to get a heart or pin shot.

agreed....also i think hunting with anything other than a bow is cheating and unfair to the animal being hunted

edit: i know a dude that hunts boars with a knife that is also acceptable...but completely insane

My grandfather who hunts boar, bear and the like. He started with firearms, then crossbows, then compound bows, then recurve bows, then he fucking went boar and bear hunting with a damn spear

As a hunter useing bows exclusively I had to be convinced to use this, but eventually I got it and ranked up crossbow. Haven't looked back, I regularly top the damage tables and it's nice for ammo conservation. The only major problem with it in instances is that I keep pulling aggro off the MT or pulling aggro off whoever is tanking.
Aimed shots critting for as high as 2600 on Scholomance adepts (2900 on a rat, woot) or Multi-shot with each arrow hitting for 1500 on a crit is truly scary. Also as has been mentioned the ammo consevation. I've had almost every non-epic bow and crossbow in the game. This is still what I return to for just damage. Ancient Bone bow is almost as good, but this thing just for the massive crits is truly spectacular. A trade off of 7 agi for 7 stam is worth it.
To all you other people wanting this for pulling, I will gladly do Strat runs to get you this bow. It deserves more respect and I've been shot with this in PvP by a rogue, he critted me for 600. Scared the crap outta me, hehe. Then he ganked me 'cos I was killing a mage, but the point is this bow works for everyone and is easy to get.
