I will never trust a company with my personal info + passwords + accounts, when they have people like nofx working for them. It's not IF - it's WHEN he will misuse the info.

Here is my take on it, and I'm just an average affiliate. I bring in about 5-6 sales a day, which is probably not a lot to most of you, but it is a nice side income for me right now. I work a day job which pays my bills, and the adult stuff has allowed me to put down a generous down payment on a house. Here are my thoughts:

I personally don't get impressed by wishing ill will on people, celebrating people losing family members, or just trying to make people feel bad about serious issues. I'm sure it probably impresses some people on the board, I'm sure people will click on the banner, and I'm sure people will remember the name the person works for. However, that kind of behaivor is not only unprofessional, but downright sick. It's one thing to call someone fat, call someone a slimeball, but its another to celebrate and trash a person who is in serious condition in the hospital.

I know the individual doesn't mean half the stuff they say, and I know it's just some marketing tactic to get views and clicks. It must work as people continue to try it more and more each day. But in the end, I choose to send my traffic to those who respect myself and fellow webmasters. If someone is going to celebrate a colleague being seriously injured, do I really trust them with my traffic, tax ID, and personal information? Probably not. I'll stick to companies that are professional.

As for saying "this person doesn't reflect the views of a company", I say bullshit. When you work for a company, you represent them. If a Google rep came into my office and said how happy they were that Joe Smith broke his neck and how cool dead babies are, I'd probably think twice about using adwords. Isn't it funny how companies like Nasty Dollars, Top Bucks, and other big players never seem to need to do this stuff for attention? They must not do well though. ;-)
