The picture is a lot worse than you painted. I have over 150 feeds listed on a page in my sig but Monday, when I wanted to use some for a new site - no special niche, just decent quality, fair-sized pics and text for a blog, regularly updated - I ended up with SIX. Okay, so maybe I'm picky, but even to work with as few as that, I had to do things like setting line-heights to zero on empty lines and forcing new lines after pics, so a couple didn't look like crap on the page. I still ended up with warnings about invalid but hopefully - for most surfers at least - viewable code.
I don't agree with but can understand, people who don't produce RSS feeds, but what on earth is the point of bothering with them at all if you make affiliates jump through hoops to get the links and after all that, the feeds are rubbish?
