Thats for sure, but they still buy a lot of domains, which can be hardly profitable, considering fact, they put them on some parking service.
But on the other side, if they were not profitable, they would not buy them, so there must be some logic
I have bought hundreds of domains via snapnames in the past, and now when i dont need them anymore, I put them on parked services too, but its only small bonus considering the price I paid for them.
