    Schools ban junk food -- students go to McDonalds for lunch

    Gotta love this

    "Schools in District 18 banned junk food this fall to make room for more nutritious options. That means school cafeterias are serving up fruit and vegetables instead of burgers and fries."

    "Unfortunately for the company that runs the cafeteria, it also means when the lunch bell rings, teens pile out of their middle and high schools looking for student specials at local fast-food restaurants."

      That depends where you are, I know my schools didn't let us leave for lunch unless you had a pass.

          when I was at Trimble (district 2) I used to go to Mc'Ds and the cafeteri did serve junk food back then, but it was garbage. Students always went tot eh fast food outlets even before this.

                  That's one great health program anyway. The only question there is on how effective the authorities are in implementing such policy.

                      If they are serving fruits and veggies ... off course.

                      But there are other good food that can be served (lasagna and stuff like that) to the mass, have a cheap cost and be better then fast food for the health...

                          Only fast food we had in highschool were french fries ... they added candy / pop distributors when I was leaving
