I bought one and pulled it out one night with some friends after a lot of drinking.
My one drunk friend looked at it in amazement and was so drunk he asked if he could touch the lit part. He was worried it was going to cut off his fingers. He then tapped the plastic tube with his fingers and pulled them back real quick. He turned to me in all seriousness and said "That's not real".

Yeah I got one as Chris mentioned, I'm one of the nerds. They are nice but be careful when knocking them around, they aren't toys really. I'm waiting for the Mace Windu version to come out....baaad aaaaasss....SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. At least I think the LA ones are made to play. I wasn't there but Mark said that he and the clerk at Futureshop got into a big old playfight for about 45 minutes right in the store, and they were whacking those things on the counters and all - and they weren't showing any wear...
