Auto to Manual?

I've always had automatic cars although I can drive rigs.I'd rather have more control and less hassle than shifting and a clutch.More speed is great but comfort is important too

get the manual. it allows you much more control, better shifts (once you learn), and infinetly more fun.

i had never driven a stick before i bought one. it was a little rough the first two weeks, but after that you're fine.

i will NEVER go back to an automatic, unless i somehow lose my left leg and right arm in some freak accident.

but dude, if you end up getting manual, make sure to practice on your buddies' 10 year old pickup truck first... it would suck if you fucked up your brand new car while learning how to work the clutch...

test drive both. as someone mentioned the new auto's are quite nice , can even outperform a novice on the stick

I would like to see manual transmission on the steering wheel shifter like in racecars

When you drive manual on a regular basis you don't even notice it. It becomes automatic.

The only reason I would get an automatic is if you're stuck in traffic 50% of the time...

Depends on 2 things, the car and where you will be driving. If you have a luxury car and are in a traffic heavy or hilly area like NYC, San Francisco, or LA go for the auto.

If you aren't in one of those areas and are getting a sports car like a BMW you will have tons more fun driving the stick. TONS.
