What works best is nude moon tanning. Especially for women. try it.

I own a salon - as far as the orange shit - just get a good tanning accelerator - Australian Gold makes a good one for starting out. Expect to spend around $15 a bottle at the salon - DO NOT buy the lotions at your local walmart/rite-aid whatever - they do not have the ingredients to get you a good tan in the beds - and the oil base ruins the tanning salons "acrylics" or plastic you lay on.
Nowadays the bronzers that are put in most of the better lotions wont get you that orange color - and if you ever do get a little buildup say between the fingers if you use one that has the sunless tanner stuff (causes extreme orange if used improperly) - motor oil takes it right off
Last and about 50% of getting and keeping a good tan - use a moisterizer as often as you can every day - it can be cheap aloe/vit E stuff - but dont use those olay type of moisterizers - they tend to do a little exfoliating along with the perfume that evaporates the water in the skin cells - not exactly the desired effect - you want water in the cells to promote tanning.
And if ya take vitamins - get a bottle of L-Tyrosine(amino acid) from your local discount vit store - around 1200 mg - one a day - its the same stuff the tanning salons sell as tan booster caplets. Promotes the transport of the melanin to the cells at the surface of the skin.
Also remember that shaving takes off layers of skin so anywhere you shave will be harder to tan - thats whay women always have a hell of a time keeping a tan on their legs - there is a new product out that has a tanning lotion and a hair growth inhibitor in it that Ive had my employees test - keeps them from having to shave legs for a week at a time

Please rethink that. Mystic tan or take a long brisk walk if you're cooped up.. Tanning beds, or just tanning leads to premature aging, and skin cancer. You may not care now but you will one day and wish you hadn't.
