                                              why stop there? why not argue that he shouldn't have an office, a phone and should be working across the street, under a tree in the park on a notebook powered by squirrels and biodiesel?

                                              do you think he doesn't need access to information? do you really think the countless documents, briefings, proposals, bill etc are on paper because he wanted them to be? just because information is on paper... he shouldnt have it and read it as it pertains to his job?

                                                  a lot of peeps give Al a hard time and say he is a hypocrite, his electric bill etc...but honestly it would be impossible to be totally green in his position.                                                                                                           Paper for the most part comes from trees grown on tree farms. So wasting paper and not recycling it is actually better for the environment.

                                                                                                          If we didn't use or waste paper, they wouldn't plant the trees that are used to make paper with. The trees grow for 20 years or so producing oxygen for us to breathe. When they are harvested, they are replanted to restart the process all over again.

                                                                                                          So using a piece of paper, is just like eating a apple, both are grown for consumption.

Most of our paper comes from managed timberlands, which are considered an agricultural crop. These managed timberlands are tree farms. Also something close to half of the mats put into paper production come from recycled goods/waste wood particles.
