There was an Indian lady that was kidnapped and brutaly murdered around the same time of the Lacy Petterson case and area. The police suspected the husband but it didn't receive any national coverage. I wonder why. The gun shoots both ways. Some news doesn't make it to national coverage for what ever reason. Race and social class are most likely the reasons why some news get air play and others don't. I love when people cry "reverse racism".
Think at the top of your head of 5 missing people who were kidnapped and/or burtally murdered.
1. Polly Klass (sp?)
2. Lacy Petterson

By looking at the nature of the crime, who committed it and the victims, I think it's quite reasonable to assume it is a race/hate crime against *white* victims.
