as a person with maybe 12 percent of their body covered in tattoos and a stint working in a very respected tattoo shop please trust me when i say that tattoo goo is not what you want to use on your tattoo. all that you need to do is keep it clean with soap and water and use a normal amount of regular non-scented lotion with no fancy/weird ingredients. lubriderm is perfect.
tattoo goo is just some gimmick.
and if you decide to have that tattoo touched up then go to another artist. if an artist can't make straight lines on the first shot then he won't be able to do it on the second shot either. a tattoo is on your body forever-- you want it to be perfect. an unskilled or out of practice tattoo artist can leave scars on your body.
if you need a recommendation for good artists in your area let me know. and congrats on getting a first piece.
