      Awesome...........I've done low twentys on a reach in DC's Stars and Stripes, I can't even imagine surfing at 30knts. You gotta love the IROC fellas.

            I never considered 30 knots too be much... the bigger cruise ships CRUISE at a speed of 26 knots... and I thought those buggers were slow lol

                30 knots in the sea under wind power would seem a lot faster than the same speed anywhere else.

                Hull speed on the 30 foot Catalina I've sailed in Santa Monica bay is probably only about 8 to 10 knots and given the right (or wrong) conditions, even that can seem pretty fast.

                  Speed is all relative and pics don't do it justice. Hop on the bow when the winds blowing 20 or so and there's a nice 6 foot swell going.
