I personally like the fact that in M3 you can fit 4 people
I am thinking the best choice all around would be a 2004 - 2005 m3.. where it has already dropped majority of its value, however it is very rare to find this car in Alpine white.. so I need to be patient.
SL500- the SL class from MB does at least 10 years before the body style is changed. Its fast as hell and handles like a dream (cant believe i just said that lol, im not a bez fan but its true.)
The M3 - the M3 will have a new body style out with a new engine (rumored to be the old M5s V8) by summer of 07 the latest! Ive owned an M3 and they really live up to the rep, amazing cars.
Im a BMW fan to the fullest. But judging by the facts, Id go with the SL. Your not getting any less of a car and its not going to change for at least another 7 years so you wont feel like you got jiped.

All around a good buy.

ive never owned a SL but have driven the SL500, SL 55 and the new SL 65 on plenty of occasions. I owned a M3 and that was solid as fuck.
I've never owned an SL either, and of the 50 who commented I stand behind my comment.I have an M3 now,It's an 03'smg. My experience with it has been mostly positive. But after a while the smg got boring. It's not really a good automatic, and it's too harsh as a manual.

Yea overall the M3 is awesome. Im not a fan of automatics even tho SMG is the fastest shifting automatic so far. I think the harshness and stuff could be due to the fact that its a 2003 and its only the 2nd year they were ever made because usually, Beemer tranies are very good.
Did you get it brand new??

Yes,I had a 330i before the M3(it was new).My car had all the softare upgrades last year when they did the rod bearing recall. It did smooth it out a bit.But even so,under full power it shifts fast but slams the car much to hard.

Lol, its funny how you went from a 330i to a M3. I went from an M3 to a 330Ci (what i currently drive). After loosing my license and paying about 4k in tickets I had to chill the fuck out.
Whats even worse is, I got pulled about a year ago in the 3 series doing like 95 comin back from SD at 3am. I was 2 exits from my house!!! That cost me one month suspended license and $1600.
