is a 10k bookmarked niche blog more profitable than a 10k bookmarked niche TGP?

assume both are the same exact niche, all US traffic, updated daily.

i understand blogs are awesome for PR but do they truly bring in the $$$.

I would say a 10k blog would be more profitable because it would have more SE traffic flowing into it. Whats the skim on the tgp is this scenario?

a more accurate analysis would be what is the best ROI.

a constantly updated niche blog will generate high quality targeted traffic.

and this blog will require daily maintenance, by real human(s) to be effective.

TGPs can mostly be run on autopilot, and you can run 20 of then with about the same effort of one highly maintained blog.

write a good deal of your posts in advance, get a program like rocketpinger, and your daily work load will be alot less. Tgps have to worry about finding solid traffic trades just like blogs do. Also if your tgps are taking submissions that adds a deal of work to do for some setups. I think it could be a drawn out debate which one requires more work to make a quality site with all the generic tgps and (s)blogs that exist now.

I have to wonder about this concept. I am sure it works, but if your blogging wouldnt you rather take that tgp space and have a great post not giving away content and giving the surfer a sales pitch with seo friendly keywords?

We're still gettin' our feet wet with our first fetish blog/forum (www.fetishopolis.com), so its still a little too soon to determine how well it competes with our other adult sites.

So far we have a little over 400 registered members since Oct. 1st, respectable hits and returns - although not as much actual member participation as we'd like. But hopefully that'll increase as the site catches on.

We're stocking the blog with original content and a bit of affiliate stuff, with daily additions.

Although it may sound basic - undoubtedly the key to making a blog successful is attracting a good core of regular users ('sparkplugs') who post on a daily basis with both informative and controversial content (i.e. GFY, heh).

Its not the code....not in the sites anyway.....firefox itself is fucked up....just because its new and has tabs....dosnt mean it can blaze its own trail....it has to follow a guidline thats already set...if the code is fucked up...its only through the eye of the beholder.....now.....old school is still always better.....
