    2257 and anime/toons newbie question

    Hello All,

I've been doing some looking around and can't seem to get a straight answer. I want to start a TGP for anime/toons/hentai/etc, but I am confused on how the 2257 laws apply to anime/toons sites. I've seen some of the TGP anime sites out there and most of them don't have a 2257 warning or link to affiliates disclaimers. So how exactly does the 2257 law apply to anime sites? Any help or pointers in the right direction would be appreciated.

Thats pretty funny. But... the feds did bust a site that was just stories. I guess they couldn't get the imaginary peoples ID's. Oh yeah, actually the imaginary people were under age. It's a sad day in america when people can be busted for writing stories. Even if the stories to me may be disgusting, they are only words that were viewed voluntarily by other adults. So I wouldn't be so sure about the Hentai stuff.

While there may indeed be other issues, 2257 does not apply to anything other than actual people.

http://www.red-rose-stories.com/ Thought this one had to do with the 2257. No actual people involved.

The Red Rose case did not involve 2257, it was an obscenity bust and you need to understand the difference. Anyone can be busted for violating obscenity laws because they are vague and based on community standards. However, 2257 is a records keeping law only and as was said, it only applies to content that depicts 'human beings' and is 'sexually explicit'.

Thanks for that clarification. Good to know. I just recieved a play by play on 2257 from one of my sponsers written by Larry Flynts lawyer, so I am up for a nice long dry read later. Definitely need to get a clear handle on this.
