getting people to sell their domains

I really want this domain, it's the title of a movie. Forget all the legal bullshit because I already spoke to the company in charge of the movie and it's cool with them. Now the problem is this... the dickless piece of shit who owns the domain won't sell. The thing that annoys me about it is that he's had the domain for over 3 years and he's never done anything with it!!!! It goes to a fucking GoDaddy parked page. How do I get this cocksucker to sell? Any ideas? It's really driving me crazy. Think of all your domains and then imagine your favorite one being taken away by some shithead who just let it sit there for years with no plans of ever doing anything with it but who keeps it on auto-renew with no interest of selling, that's how I feel. So if any of you have been in this situation and have eventually gotten the person to sell, please let me know how you did it.

He probably is afraid to say "yes I will sell it" becuase that would be soliciting. And the rightful trademark owner can send off a C&D and get it from him for reg. fee. But if you say, I will buy it for (name a specific amount). Then you have engaged him in the purchase and he should feel free to haggle from there.

thanks for the info... I already offered the fucker a few hundred and he never got back to me. I think maybe I should contact Warner Bros. and have them get the name for me? Becuase when I spoke to them I agreed to make a fan forum for the movie and the guy seemed happy that I would be promoting the already classic movie. Or he might laugh at me lol we'll see.

You might considering offering him a few thousands. People can turn into very friendly people when you offer them a bit money :D

I wish I had the thousands to offer but unfortunately I don't bottom line is this, the dipshit isn't going to do anything at all with the domain except keep it on auto-renew. I'm gonna give Warner Bros. a call tomorrow morning to see if anything can be done, hopefully I get lucky and they do it. Anyway, thanks for the suggestion.

Welcome to the internet. Good .coms are ALWAYS taken. You have to offer money and no, a few hundreds are not going to do the trick for most people.

Obviously all the good domains are taken, but this is a 3 word domain and nothing can be done with it except something involving the movie. It's not a good domain, but I want it because I love the movie and I wanna make a fan forum.

I take back what I said about all the good domains being taken... new valuable domains are born every single day, you just have to be the first to grab them
