There's no exercise that can help you lose weight in a targeted area, such as your stomach. When you exercise, the weight you lose comes from all over your body. If you do only situps, you'll increase muscle mass in those targeted areas but the weight loss will be all over your body.
To get rid of your beer belly: Stop drinking beer, pay attention to what you eat (especially by reading food labels), cut down on how many calories you consume, eat better quality food (more fruits and vegetables, preferably not fried) and get some exercise.
