I have done some NLP training in a sales context. It does work, and on the personal development side can be a powerful tool for people to improve themselves to a certain point.
What I don't agree with is the way that some people teach it. There are individuals who have set themselves up as gurus, and charge shitloads for conferences etc, when really its a quite simple concept to grasp. Business is business but they are ripping off the vulnerable to a certain extent.
