That's why nationalism makes me laugh. People trying to convince others (and themselves) that their slab of dirt is better than all the others just because they think so - and more often than not because they have been indoctrinated to believe it since birth. National anthems, flags, pledges of allegiance... all designed to brainwash the weak of mind, the easily influenced and the gullible.
Are you are nationalist? If so, tell me why your country is the best. I've been drinking and I need a laugh. Help me out.

Agree with ya PF - people are much the same everywhere and the country crap is kinda irrelevant.
Only me, but I don't give a damn where someone is from - it's who they are that matters - and, gotta say I've met some amazing people in the process.
They can vary from... very modest farmers - international jurists - people who earn $300/month and ooze utter generosity and actually care about others - a surgeon who invented a new heart value - a fairly poor Native American lady who happened be be awarded a Nobel Peace prize blah blah. It's who they are as people that matter, whether they are "rich" or "poor" is irrelevant. Prob not surprising, - they are all kinda modest.
When the human garbage starts with nationalistic/patriotic jingles, it kinda makes me sick. Don't matter if it's some idiot in my own country or elsewhere - just feel like drowning em in the ocean
