    Ever get your car recalled?

Just received a letter in the mailbox this morning, there's a recall for brake light switch on my car.

It's no big deal, only a brake light switch to be replaced. Just suck they can't do it before I drive to Toronto.

A new car built by my company leaves somewhere traveling at 60 mph. The rear differential locks up. The car crashes and burns with everyone trapped inside. Now, should we initiate a recall? Take the number of vehicles in the field, A, multiply by the probable rate of failure, B, multiply by the average out-of-court settlement, C. A times B times C equals X. If X is less than the cost of a recall, we don't do one.

I've never been notified by mail, usually when i get it serviced they do the repairs for free and let me know afterwards it was a recall.

There was a good one on Chrysler Intrepids a few years back. My friend had his car burn up in his driveway while he slept. That's what he gets for driving an Intrepid.

Had one on my truck... apparently kids were getting their fingers chopped off in the passenger seat reclining mechanism, so they covered it with a piece of plastic.

OMG....nice one re; kids getting fingers chopped off.
I've not heard of too many. there was one recently but I dont even recall now what it was for. I think it was last year or the one before.
